The best answer is not always the same for every room, so it is worth considering privacy, daylight, furniture positions and how often an opening will be used before settling on a specification.

Photograph the full elevation rather than one window alone. Horn length, bar position and the balance between fixed and opening panes are easier to judge when the complete façade can be seen.
Quotation details should distinguish applied or run-through horn options where available, together with bars, finish and hardware. That avoids a period-style description concealing a different construction.

Are sash horn windows vertical sliders?
Not necessarily. A sash horn casement normally uses projecting horn details to echo traditional sliding-sash proportions while the opening sash operates as a casement. We will identify the opening style clearly in the quotation.
Can sash horns be added to any design?
Their size, position and construction must suit the window system and the proportions of the opening. They are most convincing when glazing bars, frame colour and hardware are considered at the same time.
Can you match existing period windows?
Photographs and approximate sizes help us assess the arrangement. Exact replication is not always possible, but we can compare sightlines, horn details, bars, colour and glass to find an appropriate replacement.
