What is a casement window?
A casement window uses one or more outward-opening sashes alongside fixed panes. Top-hung and side-hung layouts can be combined to balance ventilation, daylight and the appearance of the elevation.
Can a casement window provide an escape opening?
Where an escape window is required, the clear opening and hardware need to suit the relevant room and current requirements. We check the intended use while preparing the specification.
Will new windows need trickle vents?
Ventilation requirements depend on the building and replacement work being carried out. We will discuss the applicable provision rather than removing vents simply for appearance.
